Public Lecture: Why Open Source is Important for Democracy

Denmark’s dependence on U.S. Big Tech challenges fundamental European values, such as transparency, equality and autonomy.

Come to a public lecture on how open source can help us move towards digital independence – not least in schools and municipalities.

Meet Renée Ridgway, Aarhus University researcher and Carlsberg Mindelegat recipient, Rasmus Frey, head of the secretariat at OS2, a voluntary association that helps public authorities with open sourcesolutions and part of Aarhus Municipality, and Pernille Tranberg, co-founder of DataEthics.eu, a think tank promoting ethical data-driven technologies.

After presentations there will be a panel discussion and an open Q&A with the audience.
